What are hormones?
Hormones are chemical messengers that are secreted directly into the blood, which carries them to organs and tissues of the body to exert their functions. There are many types of hormones that act on different aspects of bodily functions and processes. Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are hormones produced by the pituitary, adrenal, ovaries and testes.
Why are hormones essential?
Hormones are responsible for how we feel, look, function and perform.
Who needs replacement hormone therapy?
Aging women and men benefit from hormone replacement. With natural aging the the body’s production of hormones diminishes.
When is hormone replacement needed?
For women, testosterone decreases in their 30’s and estrogen and progesterone decreases in their 40’s. Women who are peri-menopausal or menopausal who are suffering from symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, mood swings and low libido are candidates for hormone replacement therapy. For men over the age of 30 experiencing symptoms of testosterone loss such as erectile dysfunction, weight gain, muscle loss, lowered sex drive, etc. which are not due to other health problems, are a candidate for hormone replacment therapy
How are hormones replaced?
With bio-identical hormone therapy, hormones are replaced orally, transdermally, or in the form of pellets.
What is floatation therapy?
Users float face-up in a relaxed position in an isolation tank filled with water and epson salt. The density of the water/salt solution allows users to easily float and prevents rolling over, even if asleep. Inside the tank your mind and body are isolated from any outside distractions or noise. Many people compare floating to the relaxation available from meditation or yoga. In quick simple terms, floating is the exact opposite of these two techniques. In floating, the mind follows the body. In yoga and meditation, the body follows the mind. Thus flotation therapy provides the utmost relaxation.
What are the benefits of float therapy?
Many of the benefits include: stress relief, muscular pain relief, rheumatism, pique, HTN, migraine, jet lag, insomnia, back pain, depression, and PMS. Also, recent studies have shown that magnesium and sulfate from the epson salt will pass through the skin, raising levels detected in the user’s blood. Magnesium and sulfate deficiencies are very common, so this can have an immediate health benefit for many users.
How does float therapy provide pain relief?
Floating in warm water causes automatically profound relaxation. There are no contact points, no movement, no muscle action. This causes the brain to release endorphins which control pain.
How does float therapy help PTSD sufferers?
Floating reduces stress, anxiety, and tenseness for PTSD suffers and enhances a secondary alternative treatment: meditation. The sensory deprivation allows the user to completely focus on mediation with absolutely no distractions.
